Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleanser Review

Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleanser is a daily gel-to-foam face wash made with deep sea water from Ulleungdo Island, which is rich in natural minerals. It’s meant to cleanse the skin gently while keeping it balanced and comfortable.

The formula includes soothing ingredients like panthenol and allantoin to help protect the skin barrier. It’s slightly acidic in pH, so it doesn’t disturb the skin’s natural balance.

The brand says it removes dirt, excess oil, and sunscreen without making the skin feel dry or tight. It works for all skin types, including dry and sensitive skin, and focuses on being gentle while still helping with clogged pores and surface buildup.

The cleanser comes in a simple, soft tube with a flip-top cap. The design is clean and minimal, with light blue and white tones that reflect the product’s gentle and fresh feel. The tube is easy to use and travel-friendly.

Texture, Foam, After-Wash Feel & Scent

round lab 1025 dokdo cleanser review

Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleanser comes out as a thick, white cream, not runny or watery. With a bit of water, it turns into a soft, dense foam. Rubbing it more or using a foaming net creates extra lather that feels light and airy, like whipped cream. Without a net, the foam stays creamier and heavier.

The texture feels smooth and spreads easily on the face. There are no scrubbing particles or roughness, just a soft, cushiony cleanse. While washing, it gives a clean and fresh feeling without irritation.

After rinsing, the skin feels very clean. Sometimes, there can be a light, slippery layer left behind, especially around the hairline, if not rinsed well. The cleanser doesn’t feel greasy, but it can leave a slightly tight (for some skin types only) or squeaky-clean sensation once washed off.

There’s no added fragrance, but it isn’t completely scent-free. The scent is mild and clean, almost like soap or a freshly washed towel, not floral, fruity, or perfumed. It fades quickly after rinsing and doesn’t linger.

How It Works for Different Skin Types

Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleanser is made to be gentle, but the way it works can feel different depending on skin type.

1. Normal or Combination Skin

This skin type usually responds well to the cleanser. It removes daily buildup like dirt, sunscreen, and light makeup without making the skin feel too dry or too oily. The soft foam spreads easily across the face, rinses off cleanly, and leaves behind a light, fresh feeling, neither tight nor greasy.

2. Oily Skin

If you’re looking for a Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser review oily skin focused, here’s the honest review: it handled oil control fairly well. After use, the skin felt cleaner and less greasy, and there was no heavy feeling left behind. It gave that satisfying deep-clean sensation without being harsh.

But, if too much is applied, it can leave a slippery layer, especially if not rinsed properly. Using a small amount and rinsing well gave better results. While it doesn’t completely prevent oil throughout the day, it worked nicely as a gentle daily cleanser for oily skin. And if your skin is extremely oily, it may need a second cleanse.

3. Acne-Prone Skin

If you’re searching for a Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser review for acne, this is what the experience showed: this cleanser feels gentle enough for breakout-prone skin. It doesn’t contain scrubbing particles or strong actives, which makes it less likely to irritate. It cleans thoroughly and helps reduce buildup that can clog pores.

However, if not rinsed off properly or if too much is used, it might leave a light film that could lead to small bumps. Keeping the amount small and rinsing well gives better results. Not a solution for breakouts, but suitable as a gentle everyday cleanser alongside other acne‑focused products.

4. Dry Skin

Now, is Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser good for dry skin? Yes, Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser is good for dry skin when used correctly. Its formula includes hydrating and soothing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, panthenol, ceramide, and allantoin, which help support the skin’s moisture barrier.

While the cleanser itself feels light and doesn’t leave a heavy residue, it’s not deeply moisturizing on its own. If used in small amounts and followed immediately with a toner or moisturizer, it cleanses without making the skin feel tight or stripped. So, for dry skin, it can be a good choice with proper aftercare.

5. Sensitive Skin

And for those dealing with sensitivity, this cleanser checks important safety boxes: it’s free from fragrance, alcohol, and sulfates. That alone makes it feel safer compared to many other cleansers. In use, the foam was soft and didn’t sting or cause redness.

For skin that flares up easily, it didn’t trigger any immediate reaction. That said, it did sometimes leave a tight or slightly dry feel afterward, especially if no moisturizer followed. To get the best experience on sensitive skin, a quick follow-up with calming skincare helped keep the skin comfortable and calm.

Note: Always do a patch test before using it to make sure it doesn’t irritate your skin.

Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser Ingredients

Here are the round lab dokdo cleanser ingredients:

Water, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Glycerin, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Coco-Betaine, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Potassium Benzoate, Sodium Chloride, Polyquaternium-67, Potassium Cocoate, Citric Acid, Fructooligosaccharides, Saccharide Hydrolysate, Disodium EDTA, Pullulan, 1,2-Hexanediol, Allantoin, Panthenol, Sea Water, Sodium Acetate, Butylene Glycol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Beta-Glucan, Phosphatidylcholine, Hyaluronic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ceramide NP, Glycine, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Glutamic Acid, Serine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Lysine, Alanine, Arginine, Threonine, Proline

The formula starts with a mix of mild cleansing agents made from coconut that clean the skin without stripping away its natural moisture. It includes hydrating ingredients like glycerin and different forms of hyaluronic acid to help keep the skin soft, smooth, and moisturized after washing.

There are also soothing and calming ingredients like panthenol, allantoin, and chamomile flower oil, which help reduce any irritation or tightness. A few natural sugars and plant-based components support the skin’s barrier and help it feel balanced and healthy.

Some added minerals from seawater and amino acids work to nourish and refresh the skin. Ceramides are included to strengthen the skin barrier, while other skin-conditioning ingredients keep the skin feeling comfortable and protected after cleansing.

All ingredients used are generally safe, gentle, and skin-friendly in a rinse-off product like this. The formula doesn’t include anything harsh or harmful.

However, because it contains chamomile flower oil (a natural essential oil) and preservatives like ethylhexylglycerin and disodium EDTA, very sensitive skin might want to patch test first, though the amounts used are typically low and well-tolerated.

I use the Dokdo cleanser. I have combo acne prone skin, it was leaning more towards oily before but now it’s leaning more dry (probably bc I use adapalene). I really like this cleanser personally.

If one of your main concerns is finding a gentle cleanser and you find some cleansers to feel drying even when labeled gentle, this is a good one. It doesn’t feel like there’s a film, my skin definitely feels clean, but it doesn’t feel tight at all (which many cleansers make me feel).

It’s extremely gentle and I haven’t broken out from it. But if you’re super oily and need a bit more of an agressive(??) cleanser, yeah you may not like this lol.

The ingredients are fine in my opinion but ofc YMMV and u may have certain sensitivities i don’t have. It comes out as a cream and it foams up when rubbing it in, almost as much as a cleanser in a foaming bottle in my opinion.

It’s fragrance free, but the scent is like clean yet mildly plasticky? It doesn’t bother me though bc it’s p mild and it’s what I expect from a fragrance free cleanser anyways.

I have dry acne prone skin and I love this cleanser! It’s gentle and doesn’t make me feel like my skin has been stripped of its moisture. When I first opened this cleanser I thought I accidentally purchased a moisturiser due to its consistency and appearance.

Previously I had used the Rovectin cleanser and when comparing the two, I always found the Rovectin one to be extremely drying to my skin. Making it feel tight, however with this cleanser, even on tret days, my skin didn’t feel dry. It’s such an amazing cleanser and I plan to repurchase when I finish this one!

My only con is that I must have accidentally squeezed too hard and now there’s a tear near the bottom of the tube. So whenever I squeeze from it, it also squeezes out from the tear. 🫠 so I would suggest to be careful when squeezing the cleanser from the tube in case you accidentally tear it!

Overall rating: 4/5

Scent: mild soapy scent. Nothing offensive. Barely noticeable.

I latered a dollop in my hands with water then washed my face and rinsed with water. It doesnt really foam up. It cleaned off my skincare, Etude eyebrow pencil, Lilybyred blush, Romand water tint, and Stila eyeliner well.

My skin didnt fee taut/tight. The cleanser didnt leave a weird filmy layer either. It was just my skin but clean. Its light but I wouldn’t call it hydrating, probably because of my dry skin. Best of all, no irritation.

It didnt feel as soft as the og B Lab matcha cleanser though. I might explore other options after I use up this Round Lab one, but this is going to be my fallback cleanser from now on as long as the formula didnt change.

I have repurchased the dokdo cleanser 3 times now which is really saying a lot because one tube lasts me about 4 months. I have dry skin and do not find it stripping at all. I’m honestly confused by these comments and wonder if people are using too much?

I use a dot of it at a time and find that sufficient. I like that it has a low pH without being harsh or drying imo. Would love to try the mugwort one but worry it wouldn’t be as good.

The texture is sooooo fun to play with. Even though it’s creamy, it’s also rather sticky. It’s nothing like the other cleansers I’ve tried before. It doesn’t foam up too much so my skin doesn’t feel stripped.

While it doesn’t have any added fragrances, it does have a smell. Personally to me it smells like someone threw up in it, but some people say it smells herbal like or plastic like or mineral like. Yeah lots of different smells LOL. I thought I had bought a fake so I went and bought another cleanser (travel version) from the official store and it smells the same so rip.

It’s a no nonsense kind of cleanser, does what it needs to do and does it well. It doesn’t remove makeup that well because it’s quite gentle, so you might need a first cleanser for that. For sunscreen it depends, but I’ve heard some people just cleanse their face twice with the cleanser just to be safe.

Compared to the previous cleanser I used, this one was so nice to use. It made me feel so excited to shower LOL. I didn’t get any reactions from this and in fact, some of my CCs and pimples actually went down when I started using this.

Is this HG? I guess it is. I’m genuinely hesitant to call something a HG because I’m scared that my skin will go no u on me. But I guess at this moment? It is close to being one. I might actually repurchase this once I’m done HAHAHA. 9/10
